If there’s a place where tomorrow’s headliners quietly get their start, it’s The Great Escape — and for its 20th anniversary, it’s not holding back.
Organisers have confirmed another 100-plus artists for the 2026 line-up, adding further weight to a festival already known for packing Brighton’s venues with emerging talent. The latest names stretch across genres and geographies, from indie and post-punk through to hyperpop and electronic.
Among those joining the bill are ARXX, Bella Kay and Bimini, alongside Chase Icon and Nottingham’s Do Nothing. There’s also a strong showing from UK acts, including The Skinner Brothers and Tom Rasmussen.
As ever, the emphasis is on discovery rather than familiarity. With more than 450 artists expected to perform across 35-plus venues, the four-day event has built its reputation on giving audiences a first look at what’s next.
This year, though, it’s not just about the music.
A new addition — TGE Wristband Rewards — aims to pull festivalgoers further into the city itself. In partnership with local businesses, wristband holders will be able to access discounts and offers across Brighton, from food spots to galleries and retail spaces.
It’s a small shift, but one that reflects how the festival has evolved — no longer confined to stages and set times, but woven more fully into the city around it.
Running from 13 to 16 May, the festival will once again turn Brighton into a walkable map of new music, with gigs, pop-ups and industry events unfolding side by side.
Two decades in, the formula hasn’t changed much — find the right acts early, give them a platform, and let word of mouth do the rest.
The difference now is scale. What started as a showcase has become something closer to a fixture.
And if past years are anything to go by, a fair few of this year’s names won’t stay under the radar for long.
