Exploring the new wealth – health and wellbeing

We are living longer, but with our extra years comes the question: how can we live well?

Ageing is a process, however, a positive approach can not only enrich your life but that of others. So, what affects our ability to live well? It is a subject that is going to be explored via a number of talks and events at this years Spring Festival.

Carl Honore, broadcaster, and author of Bolder will be offering his radical rethink to ageing through his exploration of the cultural, medical and technological trends that will help us make the most of our longer lives. Carl seeks to show us that by challenging prejudices and learned behaviours, ageing need not be a burden but a gift of time to embrace.

Your Holiday Starts Now

Bee Wilson, award-winning food writer, historian, broadcaster and author of The Way We Eat Now, asks what actually constitutes food, and how can we eat well for health and happiness?

For both wellbeing and enjoyment, all ages of friendly Swindon parkrunners will be participating in a gentle 5km Freedom Run in the beautiful surroundings of Lydiard Park.  Why not join them for a relaxed run and refreshing drink afterwards?

Or, for those who would prefer a short storywalk opposed to a gentle 5km run, why not join storyteller John Row for a walk. John, who has told stories at Glastonbury and all around the world, is looking forward to sharing a few more at the Festival with all ages in the lovely grounds of Lydiard Park.

And one of the best ways to grow old vigorously is with an active brain – join the new Creative Swindon Network or take part in the Think Slam philosophy competition.
