Darius Christian celebrates the art of being alone with Good Kind of Lonely

As a taste of his album to follow shortly, Darius Christian returns with a gentle celebration of the art of being by yourself. It is an art we have lost, having built a world where distractions and social acceptance, the need to fit in and follow the crowd, seem to dominate and control our every waking hour.

Well, for some of us, at least. Good Kind of Lonely reminds us that being on your own is not the same as being lonely or alone, sad or isolated. It provides much-needed breathing space in a busy world; it is time for reflection and offers a chance to be able to stop and be grateful for the life you have and the people in it.

And as always, it is as much the musical delivery system as the song’s sentiment, which is so seductive. He weaves a gorgeous ballad from spacious and soulful grooves, his vocals alone being cause for celebration. But throw in additional shimmering sonics, infectious beats and an excellent dynamic caused by the ebb and flow of sensual lows and addictive sonic peaks, and you have something cool. Very cool indeed.

Your Holiday Starts Now

It’s not just a great song but the gentlest reminder to make time for yourself.
