In the world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where stakes are high and demons lurk in the shadows, one character takes center stage in the hilariously revamped production that has audiences laughing out loud. Brendan Murphy proudly announces the extension of the award-winning Buffy Revamped tour into 2024, due to overwhelming popularity across the UK, Ireland, Toronto, and America.
Having received critical acclaim, including a recognition as the best-reviewed comedy show of the entire 2023 Edinburgh Festival Fringe by The British Comedy Guide, Buffy Revamped continues to captivate audiences with its unique take on the iconic 90s TV show.
The show’s success is underscored by accolades such as “Fangtastically good!” from West End Best Friend and “Ingeniously chaotic” from Theatre Weekly.
In this fast-paced production, Brendan Murphy brings to life the entirety of Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s 144 episodes through the eyes of the one character who knows it inside out – Spike. Funny, satirical, and bursting with 90s pop-culture references, Buffy Revamped is the perfect parody for both die-hard Buffy aficionados and those unfamiliar with the halls of Sunnydale High.
As a London-based actor, improviser, and comedian, Brendan Murphy’s creative prowess extends beyond Buffy Revamped. Nominated for the Spotlight Prize in 2008, Murphy has toured extensively across the US and Canada as part of the Olivier Award-nominated Potted Potter. His portfolio includes the hit show FRIEND: The One With Gunther, set to tour alongside Buffy Revamped in 2024.
Buffy Revamped’s success, marked by Darkchat Awards in 2022 for Best Comedy Performer and Best One-Person Show, solidifies Brendan Murphy as one of the country’s most talented young writer/performers. With theatre credits like The Crown Dual, Twelfth Night, and screen appearances in Doctors and Spiderman: Far From Home, Murphy’s versatility shines on stage and screen.
Joining Murphy is Hamish MacDougall, whose recent credits include The War of the Worlds, Project Dictator, and Hammerhead, winner of The Brighton Comedy Award.
