Swindon Town is thrilled to announce the loan signing of forward Kabongo Tshimanga from League One side Peterborough United, pending EFL approval. Tshimanga, known for his prolific goal-scoring record at Boreham Wood and Chesterfield, brings a wealth of experience and a keen eye for goal to the Town’s attacking line-up.
The 27-year-old striker, who scored an impressive 74 goals in 141 appearances before moving to Peterborough in January 2023, spent the first half of last season on loan at Fleetwood Town, before returning to Boreham Wood where he netted seven goals in 16 appearances. Now, Tshimanga arrives at SN1 eager to make his mark in Swindon colours.
Speaking about his move, Tshimanga said, “I’m buzzing to be here. It’s been a process, but I’m delighted it’s finally done. Goals have always been a part of my game, and I believe I can bring something different to the attacking options we already have here. I like to think I offer a bit of everything, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Head of Football Jamie Russell expressed his excitement over the signing, stating, “Kabongo is a powerful, dynamic centre-forward who brings a new dimension to our attack. He’s not only a threat in behind but also a strong link player, and his goal-scoring record speaks for itself. We’ve been tracking him for a while, and we’re delighted to have him on board for the 2024/25 season.”
Tshimanga joins an already formidable forward line, featuring the likes of Paul Glatzel, Harry Smith, and Aaron Drinan, offering Mark Kennedy a range of options as Town looks to push on in the new season. His arrival marks the latest addition to Swindon Town’s summer transfer activity, and fans will be eager to see him in action.
