Swindon will aim to end their National Trophy campaign with a win as they host Plymouth at the Abbey tonight (7.30).
The Curson Consulting Sprockets have enjoyed an encouraging return to competitive action but are unable to catch the Devils for the top spot in Group 2.
They will nonetheless look to bow out on a high by claiming their third victory from four meetings against the St Boniface Arena outfit.
Team boss Lee Kilby said: “Sadly our journey in the Trophy will end regardless of the result as our visitors Plymouth have already done enough to qualify for the two-legged final.
“This aside, we’ll be doing our best to go out on a high and record a win over the Devils.
“For us at Swindon, this competition was always about testing the water with racing at this level. Talks will continue in-house about National League racing for next season but the club would have to be 100% certain our participation would pay for itself before committing to a season long involvement.”
The Sprockets feature seven riders who have all featured for them already this season, with veteran David Mason returning to captain the side and Robins’ reserve Zach Wajtknecht leading in the No.1 race jacket.
Plymouth have booked Luke Priest to guest for the injured Steve Boxall, whilst rider replacement covers for Henry Atkins and William O’Keefe steps in for Rob Parker.
SWINDON: Zach Wajtknecht, David Wallinger, Dan Greenwood, Layne Cupitt, David Mason, Taylor Hampshire, Lewis Whitmore.
PLYMOUTH: Luke Priest, Richard Andrews, Benji Compton, Henry Atkins R/R, Adam Roynon, William O’Keefe, Callum Walker.
