Swindon will host four meetings in 11 days in a bid to fit in their remaining SGB Premiership fixtures and finish top of the pile.
Promoter Terry Russell expressed his gratitude to our friends at play-off chasing Somerset Rebels for agreeing to reschedule last week’s rained-off clash for Thursday (August 24, 7.30).
It means the Carpets 4 Less Robins face a flurry of home meetings, kicking off with Monday’s BT Sport-televised clash that adults can attend for the bargain price of £5 with under-16s granted free admission.
“I’d like to thank the management at Somerset for their co-operation in getting this fixture on,” said Russell.
“We hit a lot of dead ends looking for a date that would not be affected by rider availability but at the same time, everyone wanted to make sure the meeting happened before the cut off with both teams having so much to ride for.
“This is a busy but exciting time for the club. Now we have got to the top, it is very much our intention to stay there and we hope fans can turn out in force to help us achieve that goal.”
Team news for the clash will be released in due course.
