Swindon boss Alun Rossiter admits he is intrigued to see how the SGB Premiership plays out when the new season gets underway.
Rossiter’s Robins defied pre-season predictions to claim title glory in 2017 but will now enter the latest campaign with a target on their back.
The revamped CFS Filtration Robins will take their first laps of the year at press and practice day this Thursday, March 15 with doors open to supporters at 3pm.
They will also meet with fans this Wednesday, March 14 as they host their fans’ forum at the Abbey, with doors open at 6:30pm before a 7:30pm start.
Excitement is building ahead of an intriguing top flight season – and Rossiter is eager to get an idea of where their rivals stand when the action begins.
“It’s always difficult, because you don’t know how everything is going to be when the season starts,” Rossiter said.
“We were put down for stone last this time last year and we all saw how things turned out in the end.
“I feel like we’re in a strong position again this year. We had some big decisions we had to make, especially with Jason Doyle and it’s a shame we’ve not got the World Champion in our side this year.
“But we did what we felt we needed to do and what gives us the best chance to defend our league title, so we’ll see what happens when the racing gets underway.”
