Swindon travel to Leicester tonight for their first fixture of the 2017 SGB Premiership season (7.30).
The new-look Robins will be looking to make a positive start to their campaign ahead of Thursday’s opening home meeting against Belle Vue at The Abbey.
On Friday, Blunsdon duo Nick Morris and Jason Doyle reached the semi-finals of the SGB Premiership Pairs.
And with Doyle scoring ten points, as well as being the only rider to get the better of eventual Champions Chris Holder and Rob Lambert, the Robins skipper is in confident mood ahead of the trip to his former club.
“Friday at Somerset showed that there’s no problems with my injuries from last year at all and that I’m back and mean business,” Doyle said.
“I’m pretty happy with how things have gone these last few weeks and now it’s time to look ahead to the rest of the season.
“We’re just going to give it our best shot this year and it’s important we do what we can to get off to a good start.”
Adam Ellis, David Bellego, Bradley Wilson-Dean, Emil Grondal and Zach Wajtknecht will all make their full debuts for the Robins at Beaumont Park.
Meanwhile, Leicester are without British Champion Danny King and Josh Auty who are both on SGB Championship duty. The Lions have drafted in Nicolai Klindt and Lasse Bjerre as guests for the fixture.
LEICESTER: Kim Nilsson, Erik Riss, Kacper Gomolski, Lasse Bjerre, Nicolai Klindt, Josh Bates, Danny Ayres
SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Bradley Wilson-Dean, Adam Ellis, David Bellego, Nick Morris, Emil Grondal, Zach Wajtknecht.
