Robins still looking for first home win

Swindon boss Alun Rossiter admits their home schedule “does not get any easier” ahead of their clash with Rye House at the Abbey on Thursday (7.30).

The Carpets4Less Robins are still searching for their first home win of the SGB Championship campaign.

Their sole victory at Blunsdon this year came with a 51-39 success over the BMR Rockets in the Knockout Cup back in April.

After waiting almost a month since their last home outing, Rossiter is keen to see them kick-start a strong run of form with another victory over the Hoddesdon outfit.

But with former Robins’ favourite Troy Batchelor stepping in as a guest for Chris Harris, and big names Scott Nicholls and Edward Kennett also in action, he is anticipating another stern test.

Said Rossiter: “We’ve had some tough contests at home against strong sides, but hopefully we can put that behind us now and go on a bit of a run.

“It doesn’t get any easier against a strong Rye House side, but we’ll be looking to come away with a win.

“They pushed us close earlier in the season in the Cup, and with Troy Batchelor in as a guest for Chris Harris they’ve made a good booking.

“But know we’re more than capable of winning it at home, and we could do with three more points to get our tally ticking over.”

Swindon have drafted in James Sarjeant to guest for Dany Gappmaier at reserve, whilst they are otherwise at full strength.

SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Bradley Wilson-Dean, Adam Ellis, David Bellego, Nick Morris, James Sarjeant, Zach Wajtknecht.

RYE HOUSE: Edward Kennett, Stuart Robson, Troy Batchelor, Ricky Wells, Scott Nicholls, Robert Branford, Ellis Perks.
