Newly-crowned SGB Premiership Champions the Swindon Robins are all set to parade the title winning trophy in a homecoming celebration at the Abbey Stadium on Thursday October 19.
The victorious Robins who made history by overturning a first leg, four point deficit to defeat the Wolverhampton Wolves at Monmore Green last Wednesday, will parade the trophy in front of their fans at what team boss Alun Rossiter hopes will be a fitting celebration.
Rossiter said: “Everyone at the club has wanted to have this homecoming from the moment we won the final.
“Everyone was down after we lost the first leg and even though it was amazing to win it like we did away from home, we knew winning it on the road would mean only a minority of our fans would be able to make the trip and enjoy the win.
“But I have to say what incredible support we got from that minority!”
The team will head out on parade at approximately 7.15pm with all the Robins present apart from Australia bound Jason Doyle.
Resident presenter Richard Crowley will be on hand to interview and gather the thoughts of all the riders and club officials.
The victorious Robins will then head out into the crowd to sign autographs and pose for photographs, before heading up to the bar to enjoy a much deserved drink with the supporters.
The gates and middle bar will be open to the public from 6.30pm with admission and parking free on the night, although the club will ask for a donation to the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund.
Everyone at Swindon Speedway is looking forward to welcoming our friends in the media, our valued sponsors and, of course, our loyal and wonderful fans to this night of celebration.
