Robins anticipating bumper crowds

Swindon Robins are banking on a bumper crowd to roar them on in tonight’s mouthwatering Abbey Stadium clash with Belle Vue (7.30).

It’s the first of three home meetings in 10 days for Alun Rossiter’s side – and Belle Vue arrive after pushing Poole to the limit in Dorset last night.

Swindon CEO Mike Bowden is hoping fans will turn out in force for opening night and beyond.

He said: “For home meetings think about bringing some friends and introduce them to the high-octane, family-orientated sport that has been part of Swindon for many decades.

“We are working hard to reach a new generation of speedway fans and I’m delighted to support the various initiatives under way.”

Robins have a new-look side with some exciting youngsters backing up Jason Doyle, one of the top riders in the world.

Said Bowden: “We all want to be part of a successful professional speedway team.

“Rosco has put together an exciting team led by one of the true superstars of the league in Jason Doyle.”
