The latest tier restrictions announced today and set to come into force next week mean only half of the League One teams will be allowed to see fans return to matches.
With coronavirus restrictions being relaxed next week 12 clubs, including Swindon, are in areas classified in the Tier 2 – High Alert category for COVID-19 infections and will allow a limited number of spectatorsin to watch games live.
Stadiums can partially reopen and will be allowed to have upto 2,000 home fans, who will be asked to keep to social distancing and avoid close contact like hugging.
The tier levels are to be reviewed on December 16th so Swindon Town are guaranteed at least one home fixture with fans, versus Fleetwood on the 12th December before the restrictions are possibly tightened or relaxed.
Away games against Gillingham and Doncaster will still have no fans in attendance as both teams are currently in tier 3 areas and the away game against Crewe on December 1st could be switched to Wednesday 2nd to allow fans to attend this game as they are currenlty under the same tier 2 restrictins as Town.
