Tobiasz Musielak reckons he will be right at home on an open Blunsdon circuit after returning to British speedway with Swindon.
The Robins have swooped for the 23-year-old Pole to replace Dany Gappmaier in the main body of the team in a bid to boost their top-four hopes.
Musielak last rode in the UK for Wolverhampton in 2015 where he found life tough, posting an average of 4.58 across the campaign but highlighted his potential with significantly better results on the road than at Monmore Green.
He managed 58 points from 10 away meetings in the Elite League in contrast to 37 from 12 on home shale.
The ROW Rybnik charger recently scored seven in the Polish national championship and believes he can enjoy brighter fortunes in his second stint on these shores.
“I feel very good because this is my comeback in the UK after a year and a bit away,” said Musielak.
“My time at Wolverhampton was alright but I would have liked to have done even better.
“I feel very happy and very satisfied because this is going to be a great opportunity to show what I can do in the UK and show what I have learned since the last time.
“Swindon’s track will suit me a lot more than Wolverhampton’s did because I’m Polish and used to the bigger type of track.”
Team boss Alun Rossiter is hopeful Swindon can make the most of Musielak’s developing talent while also paying tribute to the professionalism of the departing Gappmaier.
“Tobiasz has a wealth of experience,” said Rossiter. “He is past that under-21 stage now which always makes things complicated in Poland.
“Hopefully, these extra few meetings will give him a lift. I can see him dialling in and continuing the big improvements he has made.
“I feel sorry that we had to let Dany go but because of our away form, we haven’t been able to make a massive move.
“Unfortunately he copped it but took it very professionally and asked me to bear him in mind for guest bookings in the future.
“That made it a lot easier. It is not the nicest thing to do but we all feel the pressure and desire to try to improve.”
