Connor Ripley Commits to Swindon Town with New Two-Year Deal

As revealed by The Swindonian on 21 May 2025, goalkeeper Connor Ripley has officially agreed a new two-year contract with Swindon Town.

The 32-year-old keeper has quickly become a key figure since arriving at the County Ground earlier this year, winning over supporters with his commanding presence, vital saves, and vocal leadership from the back. With more than 250 senior appearances across the English Football League and Scottish Premiership, Ripley brings a wealth of experience to Nigel Eady’s side.

Ripley began his career at Blackburn Rovers before joining Middlesbrough in 2009, signing his first professional contract in 2011. He gathered valuable experience during loan spells at Östersunds FK, Motherwell, and Oldham Athletic, establishing himself as first choice at the latter.

His journey continued at Preston North End with additional loans to Bury, Burton Albion, Accrington Stanley, and Salford City. In 2022, Ripley was named club captain at Morecambe, where he earned Player of the Month and was voted Player of the Year for the 2022/23 campaign.

After moving to Port Vale, Ripley made 69 consecutive starts, earned an EFL League Two Player of the Month nomination, and was named in the EFL Team of the Week following a clean sheet at Bromley.

Speaking about his new contract, Ripley said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be staying at Swindon. From day one, I’ve felt at home here – the fans, the staff, the lads – it’s a great environment. I’m excited for what’s ahead and fully focused on helping this club push forward.”

He added: “It happened pretty quickly. I had a call with the Manager and he was keen to get something done. I really enjoyed my time here and wanted to commit myself to the club. The feel I got from the minute I arrived was incredible. I’ve built a fantastic relationship with the fans and I’m confident we can build on the end of the season and achieve something with this group next season.”

Ripley’s extension underlines Swindon Town’s ambition as preparations continue for the 2025/26 campaign.
