Play-off guest hero Liam Carr has shocked supporters by quitting the sport. He broke the news at Birmingham’s End of Season Presentation night on Saturday.
Carr scored four crucial points for the Carpets4Less Robins in this year’s Grand Final as Swindon clinched the Premiership title with a single point aggregate victory over Wolverhampton.
Said Carr: “The year got off to a really tough start for me.
“I was really struggling for confidence, then Berwick sacked me.
“But thankfully I had Birmingham in the National League, rebuilt my confidence and picked up some guest bookings towards the end of the season.
“I’m going out on a personal high after turning my year around.”
