Bumper Bank Holiday meeting at The Abbey

Swindon Speedway bosses are urging fans of all ages to turn out and enjoy their Bank Holiday clash with Ipswich at the Abbey tonight.

The club have arranged some extra attractions to celebrate their 70th anniversary on an important night in the Premiership.

With six of the seven clubs in action throughout the day, CFS Filtration Robins boss Alun Rossiter knows a win against high flying Ipswich would be a major step towards booking their play-off place.

And he said: “It’s a big night for all sorts of reasons and we want to see the place packed.

“The meeting itself is one we have to win to keep thing moving along. The boys are feeling pretty good right now and we’re looking forward to facing a strong Ipswich team.

“We have to treat them with respect because they have riders who can come here and put on a show.”

Swindon are at full strength but Ipswich use the rider replacement facility for Cameron Heeps who has a rib injury.

Extra attractions include face painting and ‘Where’s Wosco’ picture hunt, sweets giveaway for the kids, an old bike demonstration, former riders parade and autograph session, memorabilia presentation and a racejacket auction following heat 15 in the middle bar. 

Racing starts at 7.30.
