Brady rides to the rescue

Talented Aussie rider Brady Kurtz is ready to race to the rescue for Swindon Robins.

Kurtz, widely regarded as a Grand Prix star of the future, will stand in for star man Jason Doyle as the Carpets4Less Robins head to Belle Vue on Friday.

They hold a handy 11-point lead but go to Manchester without Doyle as he’s in Stockholm for Round 10 of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series.

With Bradley Wilson-Dean required for Peterborough’s Championship Knockout Cup second leg at Scunthorpe, Swedish star Tomas H Jonasson will fly in from Sweden to race at reserve for Alun Rossiter’s men – Liam Carr fills the other reserve slot.

Said Rossiter: “It’s not ideal missing the boys, how do you replace the best rider in the world?

“But Brady is a good rider and he likes the Belle Vue track – I think everyone does!

“Jonasson has agreed to join us to replace Bradley at reserve and we thank the guys for helping us out. We hope we can make good use of the 11-point lead and make it through to a cup final.”

Robins return to the Abbey on Monday for the second leg of their play-off semi-final with Poole where they hold a two-point lead.

Special admission prices apply including £10 for all adults with a massive turnout expected.
