Batchelor remains in place for Leicester meeting

Swindon will again have former skipper Troy Batchelor in their side for their SGB Premiership trip to bottom club Leicester tonight.

Club captain Jason Doyle is targeting a return on Wednesday at Poole, but the trip to Beaumont Park comes just too soon for him so Batchelor makes another guest appearance.

And after Friday’s stunning win at Belle Vue, the Robins head to the East Midlands with confidence high and aiming for a fourth successive win – which would elevate them into the play-off places.

Manager Alun Rossiter said: “We’re certainly capable of winning, and we’ve got to go there believing we can do it.

“It’s a totally different track to Belle Vue, but with the way we’re gating at the moment, and with the focus that’s in the team, I just think it’s time for everyone to be positive.

“It was all negative and doom-and-gloom when we lost Jason, but we’ve got a team of racers here, and guys that listen and are hungry.

“I can’t believe there’s so much negativity in the sport. Sometimes we bring it on ourselves, but even when things go right people are still negative, and I don’t mean just in speedway. We need to get away from that, and get some positivity into our culture.”

Leicester hand a debut to Polish youngster Pawel Przedpelski, who has signed for the remainder of the season and makes his first appearance in British racing – whilst Kyle Newman appears at home for the first time since joining the Lions.

The hosts have lost their last four matches and are six points adrift at the foot of the table, but did get the better of the Robins 48-42 back in April.
Admission is £9.99 for adults with under-18s going free for the BT Sport-televised encounter.

LEICESTER: Kim Nilsson, Kyle Newman, Pawel Przedpelski, Josh Bates, Danny King, Erik Riss, Lasse Bjerre.

SWINDON: Troy Batchelor, Bradley Wilson-Dean, Tobiasz Musielak, David Bellego, Nick Morris, Adam Ellis, Zach Wajtknecht.
