We are appealing for witnesses following a stabbing in Swindon town centre this afternoon (28/02).
At around 1.45pm, we received a report from the ambulance service that a man in his 30s had received a serious injury to his face in an incident in Temple Street. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.
A cordon was put in place to allow for enquiries to take place and has now been lifted.
DS Sarah Munday from Swindon CID said: “We appreciate the concern that this incident has caused within the community, however please be reassured that the suspect and the victim are believed to be known to one another and this is thought to be an isolated incident.
“We are actively working to locate and arrest the suspect.
“We know there were quite a few people in the vicinity when this incident has taken place and there may have been witnesses to what happened.
