Wichelstowe Community Comes Together for Summer Celebration with Free Ice Cream and Pizza

Nearly 200 residents of The Orchards at Wichelstowe gathered last week for a sun-soaked summer celebration that had something for everyone.

Organised by The Stowe at Wichelstowe community group, with support from Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, the development, which will eventually deliver 3,000 new homes, was buzzing with free pizzas, refreshing ice creams, face painting, and lively sports activities.

The event, held against the backdrop of Wichelstowe’s 200 acres of open space, brought together neighbours who have already settled into their new apartments and homes.

This neighbourhood celebration highlights the ongoing success of one of the largest local authority joint venture projects in the country. The Wichelstowe development, built in partnership with Swindon Borough Council, is set to be a cornerstone of Swindon’s future, offering new schools, community facilities, and homes for thousands.

For those considering a move, there are still homes available at Orchards Rise and Orchards View, with enticing incentives such as deposit support for key workers, part exchange options, and a new rate reducer that’s helping both first-time buyers and current homeowners with lower mortgage rates.

With its excellent location just ten minutes from Swindon town centre and only an hour by train from London, Wichelstowe remains a prime choice for those seeking a blend of rural charm and urban convenience.
