A number of residents in the SN5 8 area are set to get a lot richer — bagging a share of a £3-million prize pot — after the People’s Postcode Lottery announced April’s winning postcode area.
Postcode sector, which covers areas such as Toothill, Freshbrook and Rushey Platt, was announced today as the winner of the monthly Postcode Millions prize pot.
Golden envelopes have landed through the doors of all the lucky winners inviting them to attend a special event on Saturday 27th April at Lydiard Park in the town, and it’s here they will find out exactly how much they have won.
The full winning postcode will also be revealed at the event, and those playing with this postcode will be taking home cheques for the largest share of the £3 million prize.
Last month, the Millions draw landed in Fareham which saw over 450 people share the prize, with four people picking up the top prize of £250,000 each.

Danyl said: “The best thing about my job is getting to meet our lovely winners and make their day by handing them lovely big cheques. I can’t wait to get to Swindon and see the smiles on everyone’s faces when they find out what they’ve won.”
With a minimum of 32% of every ticket going to charity, players have raised over £393-million for more than 5,500 charities to date.
April’s Postcode Millions draw is being held on behalf of Postcode African Trust which supports organisations working in Africa to alleviate poverty, strengthen communities and protect the environment.
The winning postcode sector was revealed at the offices of Book Aid International, which has received £1.85 million from the trust to provide books and improve literacy in over 20 countries.
Local charities in Swindon have also benefitted from player support including Pennyhooks Farm Trust, which was awarded £7,429 in 2017 to create conservation areas such as ponds and orchards around the farm to be used to develop the knowledge and skills of its autistic students.
