Vygon UK’s Christmas Fayre Raises £2,000 for Local Charities

Swindon-based Vygon UK has brought festive cheer to local charities with its inaugural Christmas Fayre, raising an impressive £2,000.

The event, held on 5th December at the Pierre Simonet Building, was a resounding success, welcoming over 150 attendees and featuring stalls from more than 50 local businesses and vendors.

The funds raised have been evenly split between Threshold, a charity dedicated to supporting homeless individuals, and Age UK Wiltshire, which provides vital services to older people in the region. Each organisation received £1,000 to aid their work.

Ben Harman, CEO of Threshold, expressed his gratitude: “We were delighted to be chosen as one of the charities supported by the first-ever Vygon Christmas Fayre. The generous donation will help us continue to provide a safe place to live and personalised support to people who are homeless.”

Kate Brooks, Operations Manager for Age UK Wiltshire and Age UK Southampton, shared similar sentiments: “We just want to say thank you so much for organising an excellent Christmas Fayre. It was a great event, and I enjoyed talking to lots of people about how we support older people in Swindon. It was also a great opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done! We are so grateful for Vygon’s support.”

Vygon’s commitment to community engagement extended beyond this festive event. Over the past year, the company has supported several local organisations, including the Swindon & District Community Football League and 2Step Dance Academy. Additionally, funds were raised for PINNT and Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) during professional events in Southampton and Stirling.

Katie Kingston, Head of Marketing and Communications at Vygon UK, reflected on the success of the Christmas Fayre: “At Vygon, we are committed to making a meaningful impact and contributing positively to our community. Hosting a Christmas Fayre felt like a wonderful opportunity to spread festive cheer while supporting vital community services.”

She continued: “The response from the community was incredible, and the generosity of everyone who attended has allowed us to extend our efforts to two remarkable charities, Threshold and Age UK Wiltshire. Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to deepen our engagement with local charities and groups. By sharing not only our resources but also our time and energy, we hope to strengthen the bonds within our community and make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.”
