Swindonians are set to enjoy a luxurious new cinema experience as the Vue Cinema at Greenbridge begins a significant refurbishment, introducing features never before seen in the UK. This exciting transformation promises to enhance the big-screen experience, ensuring customers can enjoy their favourite films in unmatched comfort and style.
The upgrade includes the installation of Vue’s highly anticipated luxury recliner seats, the “Lux”, as well as the debut of the “Ultra Lux” seats – the most spacious and comfortable recliners Vue has ever offered. Swindon film enthusiasts will be among the first to experience these innovations, with the initial screens set to open in December, just in time for festive favourites such as Wicked, Moana 2, Mufasa, and timeless Christmas classics.
The refurbishment is being completed in phases to ensure the cinema remains open and disruption is kept to a minimum. Vue aims to finish the full transformation by early 2025.
Another addition is the first-of-its-kind self-serve retail area in the foyer. This innovative design features a wall of drinks and snacks, where customers can easily pick up their cinema favourites like popcorn, nachos, and hot dogs. The new layout is designed to streamline the customer journey from entrance to auditorium.
The upgrades also extend to the screens themselves, with high-definition laser projection and Dolby surround sound ensuring every film is seen and heard in exceptional quality. Vue Swindon’s IMAX screen will remain a highlight for those seeking the ultimate cinema experience.
