Urgent Appeal: Witnesses Sought After Cyclist Seriously Injured in Collision

Police have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist, which occurred yesterday evening, 10th April.

The incident took place between 8.40pm and 8.50pm on the toucan crossing of the Great Western Way, Swindon, near the approach to the Bruce Street Bridges roundabout, shortly after the junction with Galton Way.

The vehicle involved failed to stop at the scene, leaving the identity of both the vehicle and its driver unknown at this time.

The cyclist, identified as a woman in her 40s, sustained severe leg injuries as a result of the collision and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

It is believed that the vehicle in question was travelling from the general direction of Bridgemead towards Bruce Street Bridges at the time of the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or have any information or dashcam footage to help identify the vehicle or its driver is urged to come forward and assist police with the ongoing inquiry.
