Swindon goes 3 weeks without hospital coronavirus deaths

No one has died at the Great Western Hospital with coronavirus for over three weeks.

Data released this afternoon from NHS England shows that 125 people have died with the illness at the hospital, with the last death recorded due to Covid-19, 21 days ago on July 7th with the individual passing away two days earlier.

Deaths nationally are also continuing to fall with English hospitals recorded people as 12 people dying with the virus in hospitals yesterday.

In the last update there were also no recorded deaths from the virus in hospitals in the South West keeping the total in are region to 1,275, although the actual figure is likely to be higher because of delays in reporting deaths.

These figures do not include people who may have died from coronavirus in the community or care homes.

Government data also reveals that, in the UK, 300,111 people have tested positive for coronavirus, including 806 people in Swindon and a further 1,283 in Wiltshire.
