Two Swindon drug dealers jailed after being caught hiding in garden

Two Swindon drug dealers have been jailed after being found hiding in the back garden of a property following a police operation in Eldene.

Wiltshire Police say the arrests came after officers from the Swindon Local Policing Tasking Team received information on 10 October that a wanted man was in the area with three others. The group was reported to be wearing balaclavas and travelling on modified e-bikes and Surron bikes.

Officers tracked the group to a property in Dickens Close, where they were discovered huddled together in the rear garden while attempting to gain access to a garage.

All four males were detained for a stop and search. During the search, officers located Class A drugs inside rucksacks that had been thrown onto the roof of the garage. Around £4,000 in cash was also recovered.

Kenzie Cobb, 21, formerly of Islandsmead in Eldene, and Leo Morris, 20, formerly of Henry Street, Swindon, were arrested at the scene. Both were charged and remanded into custody.

At a hearing at Swindon Crown Court on Tuesday, 13 January, Morris pleaded guilty to supplying crack cocaine and heroin, possession of cannabis, driving without insurance, and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He was sentenced to four years and one month in prison.

Cobb admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis, as well as driving offences. A previously suspended 16-month sentence was activated, along with a further 16-month sentence, giving a total of 32 months in prison.

Police also secured approximately £4,000 in cash under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

PC 2067 Guy, from the Swindon Local Policing Tasking Team, said drug dealing continued to cause serious harm within local communities.

“Drug supply is often linked to serious violence on our streets and we are clear that there is no place for it in Swindon or Wiltshire,” he said.

“We will continue to work proactively to identify those involved and bring them before the courts.
