Two people have been arrested after paramedics and police officers were assaulted during a disorder at a property in Swindon.
Wiltshire Police said officers were called to an address in Kingswood Avenue shortly after 12.15pm today (27 February) following reports that paramedics at the scene were being assaulted and that disorder was ongoing.
Officers attended and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and two counts of making threats to kill police officers. He has been taken into custody for questioning.
A woman in her 20s was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker. She was taken to hospital initially and will then be conveyed to custody.
Inspector Jamie Brown said: “We will not tolerate assaults on paramedics, police officers, or any other emergency service workers who are there to help and protect members of our communities.
“These people put themselves in difficult situations every day to provide urgent care and support to those in need and to be met with violence whilst carrying out their duty is totally unacceptable.”
Police confirmed that fortunately no serious injuries were reported.
