Swindon-based charity Tiny But Mighty has received a much-needed financial boost in its mission to support parents of premature babies, thanks to a kind donation from medical device manufacturer Vygon UK.
To mark World Prematurity Day on 17 November, a global event aimed at raising awareness of the challenges faced by premature babies, their families, and the healthcare professionals supporting them, Vygon UK hosted a ‘prematuri-tea’ bake sale at its Swindon headquarters. The event raised an impressive £570 for Tiny But Mighty, a parent-led charity that offers crucial emotional and practical support to parents caring for premature babies in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs).
Katie Kingston, Head of Marketing and Communications at Vygon UK, expressed her pride in supporting such a vital cause: “For the families of premature babies, the early days are filled with uncertainty and fear. This journey requires not only medical expertise but also emotional care. Vygon is committed to ensuring that premature babies and their families have the support they need to navigate this difficult time. We are thrilled to have raised £570 for Tiny But Mighty and to continue our support for this important cause.”
Founded in 2022, Tiny But Mighty has already helped over 700 families across the South and South West of England, providing essential support for parents facing the emotional and physical toll of having a baby in NICU. The charity’s founder, Chloe Kirwan, expressed her gratitude for the ongoing support from Vygon UK: “We are incredibly grateful to the team at Vygon UK for their generosity and commitment to our cause. Their continued support through the World Prematurity Day cake sale is truly appreciated. The £570 raised will make a real difference to the families we help.”
World Prematurity Day serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by premature infants, who often require extended stays in hospital and specialised medical care. Vygon UK’s donation will help Tiny But Mighty continue its invaluable work in providing resources, support, and advocacy for parents navigating the NICU experience.
