Tesco’s café at Ocotal Way in Swindon will be offering complimentary hot breakfasts to members of the Armed Forces this Sunday, 30 June, in celebration of Armed Forces Day.
Serving Armed Forces personnel, including regulars, reservists, and veterans with a valid Veteran’s ID card, can enjoy a free breakfast by presenting their MOD90 identification card.
Options available for the free breakfast include The Breakfast, The Veggie Breakfast, The Vegan Breakfast, Sausage Bap, Veggie Bap, or the Bacon Bap. This initiative marks the third consecutive year of Tesco’s gesture of gratitude, now extended to veterans as well, with one free breakfast per cardholder.
Ashwin Prasad, Tesco’s Group Chief Product Officer and Exec Sponsor of the Armed Forces Network, expressed, “As the largest private employer of Armed Forces veterans in the UK, we deeply value our connection with Armed Forces personnel. Providing a free breakfast is a small token of appreciation for their dedicated service.”
Rhys Little, Chair of the Armed Forces Network at Tesco, highlighted Tesco’s commitment to the Armed Forces, noting their recognition through the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme’s Gold Award in 2016 and 2020, and being the first retailer to sign the Armed Forces Covenant in 2014.
