Teenager charged after stabbing near Swindon skatepark

A 17-year-old boy has been charged following a stabbing near a skatepark in Swindon which left another teenager seriously injured.

Wiltshire Police confirmed the teenager has been charged with grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Swindon Magistrates Court today (15 January).

The charge follows an incident on Wednesday 14 January at a skatepark close to the former Oasis Leisure Centre. A 16-year-old boy was stabbed during the incident and remains in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries.

The 17-year-old suspect cannot be named for legal reasons.

Police are continuing their investigation and are appealing for anyone who may have information relating to the incident to come forward.
