Swindon-based corporate finance specialists Watersheds have successfully overseen the sale of Rocket Graphics to global branding and signage producer Moss. The deal, backed by American private equity firm EagleTree, marks another significant international acquisition facilitated by the expertise of Watersheds.
Rocket Graphics, a Watford-based business founded by Tim Porter 25 years ago, has built a reputation for high-quality and sustainable branding solutions. Its specialist large-format printing and installation services have made it a key player across industries including retail, exhibitions, construction, and major public events.
Moss, already established in the US, Germany, and Poland, first entered the UK market in 2023 with the acquisition of Macro Art, a high-end graphics provider. The strategic purchase of Rocket Graphics further strengthens its position, bringing together two businesses with shared values around sustainability and customer service.
Given the complexity of an international transaction, Watersheds was brought in to manage the deal on behalf of Rocket. With extensive experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, the Swindon firm played a crucial role in navigating the legal and financial challenges involved.
William Senior, Partner at Watersheds, explained: “Deals spanning different legal systems can be complex, but our expertise in international transactions meant we could guide Rocket through the process effectively. With Moss backed by an overseas private equity firm, it was crucial to anticipate and address the additional layers of complexity this brought.
“Although Rocket’s financial leadership was already strong, the team recognised that an international sale of this scale required specialist support. We were able to provide that guidance while also bringing in trusted advisors from both the UK and the US to ensure the best possible outcome.”
Beyond managing the intricacies of the deal, Watersheds also helped maintain a balanced negotiation between Rocket and Moss, who had a prior working relationship. Senior continued:
“Selling a business to a company you’ve previously worked with can present challenges. By leading the negotiations, we ensured that sensitive discussions were handled professionally, and we fought Rocket’s corner to secure the best possible deal.”
Tim Porter, Group Account Director at Rocket, praised the role Watersheds played in the acquisition: “The advice and guidance we received from William and the team at Watersheds was invaluable. Their expertise helped us achieve a successful outcome that benefits both parties now and in the long term.”
With this acquisition complete, Rocket Graphics will now operate as part of the global Moss brand, further expanding its reach while maintaining its commitment to sustainability and innovation.
