Pizza Express have announced they will be permanently closing 73 restaurants with a loss of 1,110 jobs as the coronavirus pandemic continues to hit the High street and hospitality sectors hard.
Swindon has two Pizza Express restaurants, Old Town and the Designer Outlet Village in Rodbourne.
With the recent closures of Debenhams, John Lewis, Sainsbury’s and House of Fraser you would have been forgiven If you had Swindon at the top of the list for closure however you would have been wrong.
The latest job losses at Pizza Express will take high street job losses to over 42,000 since the start of the Coronavirus lockdown in March, and then there is the upcoming Marks and Spencer’s 7,000 to add to that!
