One of Swindon’s most cherished charity nights is making its much-anticipated return this autumn – and this year promises to be as poignant as it is glamorous.
The Pulmonary Fibrosis Charity Ball, organised by the ever-dedicated Georgina Gee, is set to take place on Friday 1st November at Blunsdon House Hotel. Guests are invited to don their best black-tie attire for an evening of fine dining, heartfelt remembrance, and fundraising – all in honour of a cause that touches more lives than many realise.
For Georgina, the event carries an even deeper meaning this year. Her mother, Tina – the inspiration behind the ball – sadly passed away just a few months ago after living with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a devastating and life-limiting lung disease. Tina was known for her warmth, her courage, and her unwavering appreciation for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust, whose work continues to support those battling the illness and their families.
“Mum was forever grateful to the trust,” Georgina shared, “and I know she’ll be with us in spirit on the big night.”
While the evening will inevitably carry emotion, the tone is one of celebration – a tribute not only to Tina’s memory but to the wider work of the PF Trust and those they support. The night includes a three-course meal, DJ, photographer, and what has become something of a local tradition – a spectacular raffle and auction, brimming with sought-after prizes donated by generous supporters. Details of this year’s prizes are to be announced soon.
Tickets are now on sale at £55 per person, with all proceeds going directly to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust. Doors open at 7pm and the evening runs late into the night – and with Georgina at the helm, there’s no doubt guests are in for a very special occasion.
