Eligible families in Swindon are in for a treat this Christmas as parents will soon receive their Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme voucher from their child’s school, starting on 13th November.
This voucher opens the door to four exciting free activities for children during the Christmas holidays.
The HAF programme is a fantastic initiative catering to thousands of children in Swindon, ensuring not only engaging activities but also providing a nourishing hot meal daily. Eligible participants include children receiving specific benefits, those in care or under the supervision of a social worker, and young carers.
Dean, a parent with two children who are young carers, shared his positive experience with the Summer Holiday Activities and Food programme. He expressed gratitude, stating, “The HAF programme was very helpful to us as a family and we really appreciated being invited due to the 2 children being young carers.
“Life is pretty difficult at home so it made the summer holidays less daunting, especially where other school children were away on holidays.”
