Swindon Town Sign Ollie Clarke from Mansfield Town

Swindon Town have this afternoon announced the signing of midfielder Ollie Clarke from Mansfield Town on a permanent deal, pending EFL approval.

The 31-year-old joins for an undisclosed fee, marking Town’s first signing of the 2024-25 summer transfer window.

Ollie Clarke began his professional career with Bristol Rovers in 2009, amassing over 200 appearances and netting 20 goals during his 11-year stint at the club. Clarke’s time at Bristol Rovers was marked by both personal and team achievements. He played a pivotal role in the club’s back-to-back promotions, first advancing from the Conference via the play-offs in 2015 and then progressing to the third tier the following season.

Clarke also served as Bristol Rovers’ captain and was twice honoured as the club’s Player of the Year in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.

After his successful spell at Bristol Rovers, Clarke moved to Mansfield Town, where he continued to shine. He led The Stags to promotion last season and was appointed captain during his time in Nottinghamshire.

Swindon Town fans can look forward to seeing Clarke bring his wealth of experience and leadership to the pitch next season. The club is confident that his arrival will bolster the squad as they aim for success in the upcoming campaign.
