Swindon Spared as Met Office Issues Amber Weather Warning for Southern England

Swindon appears to be spared from the latest weather woes as the Met Office issues an amber weather warning for the south of England.

The warning, effective from 6 am to 10 am tomorrow, warns of heavy rain that may lead to more flooding and disruption.

This alert particularly covers areas such as Southampton, Yarmouth, and sections of Portsmouth along the southern coast however there is also a second weather warning, albeit yellow, covering a substantial part of the south, including London, Brighton, and Exeter, extending into Wales with Swansea and Cardiff. This warning covers the south of Wiltshire but should see Swindon escape the worst of the weather.

The yellow warning is set to continue until 10 am on Wednesday. The Met Office’s advisory states, “Rain, heavy at times, is likely to cause some flooding and disruption in a few places on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.”
