A registered sex offender from Swindon has had his Sexual Risk Order extended by four years following an application by Wiltshire Police.
Sean Morris, 60, of Massinger Walk, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 11 August, where the existing order was extended and additional conditions were imposed.
Morris has been subject to a Sexual Risk Order since February 2023. The original order placed restrictions on his contact with vulnerable sex workers.
Following concerns about his continued contact with vulnerable sex workers, which breached the existing order, and concerns relating to children, Wiltshire Police applied to have the order amended.
The court agreed to extend the order by four years and add restrictions covering contact with children and the disclosure of internet-enabled devices.
Morris was jailed for 20 weeks in June for breaching the order and remains in prison.
He is monitored by Wiltshire Police’s Management of Sexual Offenders and Violent Offenders (MOSOVO) team, which is responsible for monitoring registered sex offenders and ensuring they comply with the conditions placed upon them.
Nicola Kerr, Offender Management Supervisor for Swindon, said: “I’m pleased to see Morris’s order extended and amended to cover contact with children – he is a clear danger to the public.
“The MOSOVO team will continue to monitor Morris and other registered sex offenders to ensure conditions are complied with and we will not hesitate to take robust action on those who are found to be breaching them.”
The extended order means Morris will remain subject to additional restrictions designed to manage the risks he poses following his release from prison.
