Swindon is gearing up for a brand-new sporting event this August Bank Holiday weekend, as it hosts its first-ever Pickleball Festival in partnership with the Delta Tennis Centre.
The festival, taking place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August 2024, promises an action-packed weekend for both seasoned pickleball enthusiasts and those new to the sport.

The event will be held at the Delta Tennis Centre, where a 12-court indoor setup will be unveiled, making it the largest pickleball event ever hosted in Swindon. Open to all ages and skill levels, the festival offers a range of match formats, catering to competitive players and casual participants alike.
Shaun Jones, organiser of Swindon Pickleball, shared his excitement about the upcoming event: “We are incredibly excited to bring the first-ever Pickleball Festival to Swindon. Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK, and we’re thrilled to showcase it in such a vibrant community. This festival is all about bringing people together—whether you’re a seasoned player or someone who’s never picked up a paddle, there’s something for everyone. We can’t wait to see people of all ages and abilities join in the fun.”
The festival is set to run from 9 am to 5 pm each day, with a packed schedule of activities. On Saturday, participants can enjoy unlimited festival friendlies on eight courts, while Sunday will see the action expand to all 12 courts, offering a full day of unlimited festival matches.
A spokesperson for Delta Tennis Centre commented on the collaboration:
“We are delighted to partner with Swindon Pickleball to host this event. Delta Tennis Centre has a long history of promoting sports in Swindon, and we’re proud to support the growth of pickleball in the region. This festival is a fantastic opportunity for people to experience the sport in a welcoming and supportive environment, and we look forward to seeing a great turnout.”

Registration for the event is now open on the Pickleball England website, but spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged to secure a spot. The registration deadline is 11 am on Sunday, 18th August 2024. Any entries received after capacity is reached will be placed on a standby list.
Entry fees are £10 for youth players (under 18) for Saturday, and £20 per adult for each day. A limited number of weekend passes are available at £30 per player. For more details, including event information and to reserve your place, please visit the Swindon Pickleball website.
