In the spirit of giving, Swindon Santa is calling on the community’s generosity to raise £5,000 for two Swindon families who have experienced profound challenges this year.
As Swindon Santa prepares for his return to spread festive cheer, the focus this year is on extending a helping hand to families facing profound challenges.

The campaign aims to raise funds for Rico and Cherisse, who recently suffered the heartbreaking loss of their 7-month-old daughter, Elsie. The goal is to provide financial assistance for a memorial bench at Coate Water, a local spot cherished by the family.
The second family in need is that of Gary and Shona Turner, who received the devastating news of their son Cody’s cancer diagnosis just one week after his fourth birthday. Cody is currently undergoing intensive treatments to combat the illness, and the family is navigating the ongoing challenges associated with his medical journey.
Swindon Santa is reaching out to the compassionate hearts of the Swindon community, urging for donations to help reach the £5,000 target. The funds will provide crucial financial relief to the Turner family and contribute to creating a peaceful space for the grieving parents, Rico and Cherisse.
Swindon Santa’s Planned Visits:
- Thursday, 14th December: Tadpole Village (4 pm – 5 pm)
- Sunday, 17th December: Town Gardens (1 pm – 3 pm)
- Thursday, 21st December: Lydiard Park (4 pm – 5:30 pm)
- Saturday, 23rd December: County Ground (2 pm – 4 pm)
While neither family has sought help, Swindon Santa believes in the power of community support, and hopes as a collective we can provide financial relief to one family and a place of solace for the other.
Your support can make a significant difference in brightening the holidays for these families with donations being accepted on JustGiving.
