Discount shoppers in Swindon will be disappointed at the news Poundland is closing it’s town centre store but this could be just the start of the £1 shops demise if rival Poundworld follow suit.
Early last year Swindon was but the subject of many online jokes about being a town of pound shops with two Poundland’s, Poundworld and a 99p store all available to shoppers, yet it may soon be a town centre with none of the above.
Poundworld announced this week they are set to close 100 of its 355 shops across the UK but have yet to confirm locations.
