Amidst the jubilant atmosphere, guests were treated to captivating performances and heartfelt speeches, culminating in a moving rendition by the academy’s talented students, met with rapturous applause from all in attendance.

As Thomford Academy prepares for its next chapter, students aged 11 to 17 are gearing up for weekly Saturday rehearsals commencing on April 27th at Steam, where they will hone their skills under the guidance of local professional dancer Paula-Jane de Boer. The highlight of their journey will undoubtedly be their upcoming show in July, where the students are set to grace the prestigious stage of His Majesty’s Theatre in the West End.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the upcoming venture, Paula-Jane de Boer shared, “The West End will be such an amazing experience for the students and I can’t wait to teach them my routines and see them on that famous stage!”

Principal Nicki Rochford echoed the sentiment, stating, “I am so excited to meet our new students and start their journeys into the performing arts. There is a lot of talent in Swindon and these young people will be given so many opportunities at Thomford Academy.”

Looking ahead, Thomford Academy is poised to expand its offerings, welcoming students aged 3 to 18 in September. With a curriculum encompassing Acting, Musical Theatre, and Audition techniques, coupled with specialised workshops conducted by industry professionals, the academy is set to become a cornerstone of performing arts education in Swindon.
