Work has started this week on a new cycle-pedestrian route which will run along the northern verge of Covingham Drive, from Dorcan Way to Merlin Way.
The route will be 3.5 metres wide and aims to provide a more attractive, safer alternative route for pedestrians as well as cyclists, who prefer not to ride on the road.
It will connect into existing cycle facilities at both ends of Covingham Drive and will benefit existing Swindon residents and pedestrians as well as cyclists wanting to access the New Eastern Villages area in the future.
Work is expected to finish by the end of March 2017.
The council plan to keep disruption to a minimum, and ask that any questions are directed to the Project Manager Lynsey Turner on 07341 077579.
