Students across schools within the Ascend Learning Trust embarked on a vibrant celebration of literature, showcasing their love for books through a day brimming with fun activities and imaginative fancy dress.
At Royal Wootton Bassett Academy, tutors adorned classroom doors with colourful depictions of their favourite book covers, setting the stage for a creative showcase. Meanwhile, students showcased their culinary skills by bringing in homemade cakes, adorned with literary themes, in hopes of clinching the coveted first prize of vouchers and house points.

Noremarsh Junior School fostered a love for reading through a bustling book sale, allowing children to peruse a wide selection of titles and acquire additional books alongside their World Book Day tokens. Engaging activities infused lessons with excitement and curiosity, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Wellington Lions and Eagles embraced the spirit of storytelling with special appearances from beloved characters such as Panda, Mr. Tickles, Hermione, and the Avengers. Notably, Wellington Lions proudly unveiled their second school library, underscoring their commitment to nurturing a reading culture among students.
At The Wellington Academy, both staff and students spared no effort in crafting imaginative costumes, with some opting to design their attire from scratch. Tutor sessions were abuzz with literary-themed games and activities, including guessing the teacher reading a story and designing book covers, fostering creativity and engagement.
Lawn Manor Academy transformed into a playground of literary adventures, as pupils embarked on a quest to locate the elusive ‘Where’s Wally’ across the school grounds.
In tutor sessions, students embraced challenges such as guessing the teacher’s bookcase and designing decorative bookmarks and bunting to adorn the school’s vibrant library.
