The work to upgrade Junction 16 of the M4 is progressing well. With the start of the spring weather the contractor has managed to spread almost 6,000 cubic metres of clay so far. This element of the work will continue until the summer.
Some of the utility diversions are starting over the next few weeks, with telecoms work now underway, and the gas main diversion will start next week. This is not expected to affect gas supplies in the area.
The Junction 16 project is registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme. The scheme focuses on five key areas: site appearance, respecting the community, protecting the environment, safety, and valuing the workforce; and a recent review recognised that the project is working to a ‘Very Good’ standard.
