Can you remember the first football match you ever attended?
Saturday 31st October 1992, a pretty cold afternoon at the County Ground with 7,783 other fans watching Craig Maskell slot home an early penalty for Town to take maximum points against a pretty poor Barnsley side.
Yes this was the year we won that epic Wembley battle against Leicester City to take us to our one and only season in the Premier League.
What’s my point you ask? Well here we go:
Kick4Life, a unique football club based in Lesotho in southern Africa, a charity and a social enterprise whose mission is to change the lives and long-term prospects of vulnerable young people in Lesotho, through a wide range of social development activities focussing on health, education and support towards sustainable livelihoods, is looking for your help.
In February Kick4Life F.C. will be playing in the countries Top8 Quarter-Final match at the national stadium and need your help to give vulnerable children the chance to attend Lesotho’s illustrious Top8 tournament.
For just a £5 donation Kick4Life can cover match entry fees, transport to and from the game and food for one child.
Kick4Life’s Director of Football Chris Bullock said: “Many of the children we work with have never been to a football match in a stadium before so this will be a great experience for them.”
The easiest way to donate in the UK is to text KLFC99 £5 to 70070.
