Families in Swindon are in for a treat this half-term as the Wyvern Theatre Free Family Fun Day returns on Sunday, 23rd February.
Packed with interactive storytelling, drama workshops, and hands-on nature activities, this event promises a morning of fantastic entertainment for young children – all completely free!
This year’s event will welcome Really Rather Wild and Prime Theatre, who will be hosting a range of engaging workshops designed to ignite young imaginations.
Step into the World of The Gruffalo
One of the highlights of the day is the Gruffalo Story Explorer session, led by award-winning storyteller Kate Claxton. Aimed at children aged 3 to 6, this interactive session will bring the much-loved tale to life before it arrives on stage later this spring. Kids will enjoy:
- Live storytelling from The Gruffalo
- Hands-on science activities, learning about woodland animals
- Creative craft time, where they can make their own Gruffalo nature viewer
- Fun Gruffalo-themed games
Parents can choose between two sessions: 10:15-11:00am or 12:15-1:00pm in the Spotlight Room. Tickets are limited and must be booked in advance.
Drama Fun for Young Actors
For slightly older children aged 6 to 9, Prime Theatre will be running an exciting drama workshop. This fun-filled session will give children a light introduction to acting, where they can:
- Expand their imagination
- Create silly characters
- Perform amusing scenes
It’s a great opportunity to experience what Prime Youth Theatre has to offer, providing a chance for youngsters to boost their confidence and creativity.
How to Book
Spaces for these free workshops are limited, so early booking is advised! To secure your child’s place, visit the Wyvern website.
Please note: Only one ticket is required per child attending, and adults do not need a ticket.
