Wallace & Gromit fans are in for a treat as the iconic duo take centre stage at Swindon’s STEAM Museum later this year.
The Wrong Trousers will be brought to life with a special live performance of its unforgettable soundtrack by the Aldbourne Band.
Following the success of The Snowman in Concert last Christmas, the team at STEAM Museum have once again teamed up with the Aldbourne Band. This time, the musicians will perform the beloved score from the Oscar-winning 1993 short film, which introduced audiences to the cunning villain Feathers McGraw.
The event will take place at the Swindon Borough Council-owned museum on Saturday, 31st May. Attendees will enjoy the classic animated adventure on the big screen while surrounded by the museum’s impressive railway exhibits, all set to the thrilling live performance of the film’s music.
Sally Langheim, Events and Conferencing Officer at STEAM, expressed her enthusiasm: “We cannot wait to welcome Wallace & Gromit to the museum. This classic British film is fun for all the family, and we are looking forward to experiencing it alongside the heritage of our collections and the incredible skill and beauty of the Aldbourne Band’s live performance.”
Councillor Marina Strinkovsky, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Placemaking and Planning, added: “Wallace & Gromit are British icons, and what better place to watch The Wrong Trousers than at the equally iconic STEAM Museum? The Aldbourne Band are sure to provide an unforgettable soundtrack to fully immerse visitors in the film.
“While STEAM remains the number one place to learn about Swindon’s rich railway history, it’s fantastic to see the space being used for a variety of events that appeal to a broad audience. With favourites like Comic Con and the Great Western Brick Show returning this year, there will be plenty of reasons to visit.”
Tickets for the two performances of Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers Live are available now via the STEAM Museum’s website. Given the popularity of previous events, early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
