A man from Swindon has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for sexual offences including raping a child.
Alexander Franczyk, 58, of Pritchard Close, Kingsdown was sentenced at the Old Bailey on Tuesday October 22nd. He was found guilty by trial in August for multiple incidents of rape, one incident of attempted rape, multiple assaults by penetration and multiple sexual assaults.
Franczyk has already pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children.
He will also have an extended sentence of five years once released, added to the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely and barred from ever working with children.
The incidents all took place between July 2016 and May 2023 and involved two young victims aged 13 and under.
Detective Constable Sarah Pollock, from the Child Abuse Investigation Team said: “I’d like to commend these two young girls who showed incredible bravery at coming forward to report these crimes after suffering several years of abuse.
“This has been a deeply upsetting case and I hope they can now start to rebuild their lives, safe in the knowledge that Franczyk will now face a significant custodial sentence.”
