A Swindon man, Jack Moran, 34, of Ringwood Close, has been banned from driving for 40 months following a drink driving offence. Moran pleaded guilty to the charges at Swindon Magistrates Court on April 24th.
On April 7th, Roads Policing officers on patrol in Princes Street, Swindon, stopped a grey BMW X3 of which Moran was the driver. He was found to have no driving licence and officers felt the vehicle smelt strongly of alcohol.
He subsequently failed a roadside breath test and was arrested, charged, and had his BMW seized.
Upon appearing at court, Moran received a 40-month driving disqualification, was ordered to pay CPS costs of £85, a £114 surcharge, and must complete 70 hours of unpaid work.
Roads Policing Sergeant Will Ayres stated, “Moran was not displaying L plates and was not supervised at the time we stopped his vehicle. He had no licence and was over the drink drive limit, posing a risk to himself and other road users and pedestrians. We will not tolerate this behaviour and will continue to target those road users who fail to comply with the law.”
